MARIA NUSSER, LCPC

Integrative Psychotherapist & LGBTQ Specialist
Maria is an integrative psychotherapist with specialized experience working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and their nuanced issues. Maria believes you are not broken or alone; that therapy can be a great tool that can help you find the inner resiliency to keep moving forward without being weighed down by guilt, shame, or judgment. She believes it’s okay to ask for support and help, especially when the world feels like a dumpster fire on top of our own personal battles.

Maria specializes in utilizing existential and integrative mind-body psychotherapy, holistic energy, and person-centered therapies in order to support clients experiencing LGBTQIA+ specific issues, fandom related concerns, trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, academic & career issues, mood swings, anger, grief, and existential crisis. Her approach is profoundly respectful, genuine, and supportive.

“With my 10+ year-career working within comorbid addictions and mood disorders, I’ve come to notice the amount of guilt and shame that we carry with the choices we make and regret. Instead of holding in these burdens, I encourage clients to accept themselves as they are in the moment; to not judge themselves for the things they can’t change from the past or future and to focus on loving themselves in the present moment. You deserve respect, love, and acceptance. Your feelings are valid. You are good enough. You matter.

I focus more on what YOU want versus what society says you SHOULD want. Through person centered approaches, we’ll work together to navigate resiliency, self-worth, being, healing, and growth using gentle yet powerful mind-body and existential psychotherapy techniques in a casual and relaxed atmosphere without judgment or condescending tactics. “
